stJ logoSince 1916, St. Joseph’s College has provided an affordable liberal arts education to a diverse group of students. Independent and coeducational, St. Joseph’s prepares students for lives of integrity, intellectual and spiritual values, social responsibility and service.

St. Joseph’s Brooklyn Campus challenges its approximately 1,200 students to develop their full potential and a joy of learning. Specifically, the Journalism and New Media Studies major draws on traditional liberal arts disciplines — including English, history and communications — and applies them to professional media practices. Students develop their writing and reporting skills for new media formats such as interactive websites and digital video. The program has a strong focus on the business side of media, leading to internships at established media outlets. Recent internship sites have included ABC 7, CBS Sports, Democracy Now! and BK Nation.
